I hope you enjoyed the season-premiere as much as I did. It gave me such an amount of inspiration that I finished the first picture in weeks. I started it as a greyscale, just to try out some new things. Still have a lot to learn about that.
Actually know what you mean by how much the new season meant and ironically enough working on a JousterShy piece right now, hilarious. ^o^
Regardless your inspiration shows well with this image and heck from top to bottom you really carried through on your attention to detail and overall focus to make everything look and feel right off from the show itself.
Like how well the RD and Shy take the center stage in the pic but more then that how well decorated and attentive you were to dress up the whole background so not just those two are the only things to take in but everything else really catches your eyes.
Bravo as well having that level of color and vivid look of everything in the jousting portion and man looking up at the sky feels like a summer day, in short very inviting! As well love the work on the ponies themselves, besides nailing their looks in the jousting armor, extremely impressive work gotta say being able to draw something without the use of black outlines, incredible indeed!
Well played too keeping RD the bold and outgoing type with her proud and prominent pose in the piece with her jousting spear in hand and just having Fluttershy poking her head out ever so slightly. Goes to show when you take the time to add those key points to a character to better make familiar their personalities in the show matching your work.
In the overall with say how amazingly soft and wonderful your able to make the coloring look in the image here. Even the way you can tell the difference between the soft green look of the grass and the hard and sturdy nature of the fence shows some serious know how and hats off to you for that RainbowGambler.
Additional thumbs up can say goes to your smaller touches like the threads in both their manes to make their hair flow more naturally and giving the armor a great level of shine and gleam to personify the direction of light and even details like the small red crystals on RD's chestpiece.
Could go on forever at this point RainbowGambler for how much your poured into your work, big applause to you and do keep up the glorious artwork your able to create, nuff said. ^-^
Well can't say there wasn't any reason not to cheer on your awesome piece, and heck there's alot of talent and direction with your work from color to your attention to detail. I was only pointing out what you were already doing right, nothing more. ^-^
